In Mayan and Aztec cultures, “Chia” means strength, and this small seed really deserves it’s name. With a nutty flavor, Chia seeds are a whole-grain food that, unlike flaxseed, can be absorbed by the body as seeds, providing high quality nutrients. Only two tablespoons of Chia seeds contains 4 grams of protein, 9 grams fat, and 11 grams of fiber, plus Magnesium, Iron, Calcium and Potassium, essential for the health of our body cells. Sprinkle them over your breakfast cereal bowl, add them in smoothies, enrich your baked goods, or prepare delicious pudding like this one bellow – Chia seeds are very versatile, making it easy to enrich your diet with its valuable nutrients.
